Dogs

We welcome well-behaved dogs in our ground floor bedroom, Shirley Suite. We also welcome them in our cottages. There are just a few rules, which we hope you’ll understand, for the enjoyment and comfort of all our guests. To be clear, we LOVE dogs, but appreciate not everyone does.

  • we only accept dogs when the booking is made directly with us and not via a third party booking website or online travel agent. This applies to the guesthouse and cottages.

  • if you’re looking to bring more than one dog to the guesthouse or cottages, please call or email us first to discuss.

  • there is a small extra charge of £10 per stay, when bringing a dog (applies to the guesthouse, not the cottages)

  • please do ensure dogs are not allowed on beds and furniture and if staying in our cottages, please read in our guestbook about use of the garden area

  • if you feed and water your dog on our floors; carpeted, tiled, stone or otherwise, please kindly put some paper or a tray down under the bowls

  • if you’d prefer to bring your dog to the breakfast room when you dine, rather than leave them in the room or cottage on their own, that’s fine and we’ll show you to a table. You’ll not be sat on your own by any means, but just out the way of the main walkways so no paws get accidently trodden on!

  • please do not leave dogs in guest rooms on their own for any length of time or if you leave the building completely. If you do need for whatever reason, let us know so we are aware and help if we’re needed

  • your dog is your responsibility at all times and we cannot accept any responsibility for your dog’s care, welfare or behaviour towards others

  • please do not allow your dog to chase our beloved cats (or anyone’s cats), who shouldn’t ever be in the main guesthouse but may be outside

  • finally, if you need anything to make yours and your dog’s stay more comfortable and ensure the above points are easy to follow, please just ask us. We’d much rather help than not

  • oh, and if you’re willing, a photo of your dog in our reception for our social media is always welcome, but not compulsory, of course!

Thanks so much for your understanding
